Darlene Gnichtel, CVT, Board Member

Darlene is a board member of the Newark Community Healthy Pet Clinic.  When she graduated from Drew University with a double major in French and English Literature she really didn’t know what she wanted to be when she grew up.  Little did she know, her two beloved yellow Labrador Retrievers, Sunflower and Austin, would help her figure that out.  In trying to give them the best care possible, Darlene realized she loved working with animals.  She went back to school to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.  Darlene worked at Bloomingdale Animal Hospital for 13 years before moving to The Seeing Eye 4 years ago.  She shares her home with a gorgeous Labrador/Golden retriever mix named Topaz.
Darlene loves volunteering for the NCHPC because she believes that healthy pets are happy pets… and their pet parents are happier and healthier too as a result.
